Traveling Light with a Toddler

Recently, Caroline took a last minute trip to see my family in Indiana. We were going for a week and flying, but I didn't want to pack a lot. So, off I went to find a way to pack light!

Sunflower Baby

Caroline and I had a Friday Funday not too long ago! We started by hitting up one of our favorite local bakeries, Swanky Sweets, and ended at the beautiful sunflower fields by the bridge to Emerald Isle.

Midway Park Splash Pad

Caroline and I ventured out to the Midway Park Splash Pad on Camp Lejeune recently and I'm so glad that we did! The two times that we have been, it hasn't been busy and that's exactly how I like it. If you're looking for somewhere to take your little kiddo to cool off, I think this is the spot!

She Swank | Too

She Swank | Too is a cute shop in Jacksonville that I love to pop into just in case Caroline "needs" something new and cute. Actually, I went into the shop before Caroline was big enough to get anything from here and I was eager for her to grow just so I could start buying clothing from here!

Lynnwood Park Zoo

On a sunny day a few weeks ago, Mark asked if we could do something as a family. Specifically, he asked if we could do something Caroline would like and he wanted me to make sure I took lots of pictures. The man just wanted to make some daddy/daughter memories and... be still my heart... we made it happen!

Water Baby

A few weeks ago, we were playing outside and Caroline got pretty dirty! We'd never played in the sink before and I had no idea that it was going to be so magical. This girl loves the water and could not get over just how fascinating the faucet water was! She makes everything just a little bit more magical, doesn't she.

Caroline's Farmer's Market First Birthday

This weekend, we were able to get together with our closest friends and family to celebrate our baby girl! Because Miss Caroline loves her food, her party was Farmer's Market themed!

Our One Year Old

Caroline is one! What?! How did that happen? I'm not totally sure, but I know that she's growing into a beautiful little toddler and it's been fun to watch.

Project Nursery Video Baby Monitor System

I received a free Project Nursery Video Baby Monitor System in exchange for writing an honest review.

Back in July, Project Nursery mailed me their new video baby monitor system. It took me a while to get to the review because my blog, as a whole, has clearly been neglected (#life), but also because I wanted to know how I actually felt about it.

Life Lately

Life around here has been going by very, very quickly! With Mark gearing up for a deployment and Caroline growing like a weed, things are cruising by. Yesterday, we saw a newborn baby and couldn't believe how much our little lady has grown in such a short period of time. It's crazy!

Caroline Ashby: A Birth Story

As I've mentioned before, Baby O was breech throughout my whole pregnancy. She remained cozy and in place until our scheduled c section date, April 4th. I was exactly 39 weeks along.

Going into the surgery, I wasn't nervous. I always described my feelings as anxious because I'd never had major surgery before and I felt like I had to get through the surgery anxiety before I could be excited or ready for little Caroline.

Nursery Reveal

iSpy a picture of baby Mark

As you know, Baby O now has a name and is a beautiful baby girl! Caroline Ashby's nursery is complete and has become one of my favorite places in our home. She is sleeping in her pretty crib, even though her momma is struggling with the idea that she's too little to be by herself, and she's being rocked and comforted in the big comfy recliner. A beautiful room for a beautiful baby.

There's a Baby Coming

Today, there's a baby on the way... our baby! The little bambino was too cozy to flip so we are going in for a scheduled c-section. With that said, I'll be away from the blog for a while.

I have scheduled many posts out and I hope that they keep you coming back for more! I'll be popping in every now and again to give you updates. For example, the wait will soon be over and we will all know the sex of the little nugget! And photos... there will be a lot of photos!

Babypalooza 2016 Recap

Last weekend, I attended Bumbledoo's Babypalooza 2016, "Fayetteville's longest running Mom, Family and Baby event committed to helping expectant and new parents. Bringing you news, deals, tips, ideas, products and services, from bump to toddler." I'd searched high and low for a "Baby Expo" and this one fit my schedule and wasn't too far away... Score!

DIY Alphabet Blocks

This weekend, I tackled a DIY project on my list and I'm here to share the (super easy) details!

Hospital Bag Possibilities

I'm nearly 35 weeks and am starting to think about what will be in the bag that we take to the hospital when it's "go time." I've done a lot of research leading up to this point, but then Baby O threw me a curve ball - the little human is breech.

So, for now I'm taking suggestions on how to get baby to flip, but I'm also prepping for a scheduled c-section. Baby is comfortable so I'm not sure if the little bambino will turn... plan for the worst and hope for the best, right?

Indiana Baby Shower

At the end of January, right before Mark and I moved from Georgia to North Carolina, my mom and sister threw a baby shower for us! As you might have guessed, Mark wasn't able to attend but he was okay with that and I was able to soak in some "home" time (and a cheap direct flight) before our move.

Wanderlust Wednesday Link Up #5

Because who doesn't love a baby update?!

Baby O had their halfway check-up this week and is looking good! We are maintaining our "Team Green" status and won't be finding out the sex so Baby O will remain just that until he or she decides to bless us with his or her presence! I can't believe we're halfway and I know the holidays and our time in Columbus will wind down so quickly that the next few months will fly by.

20 Week Update
- The nausea is completely gone (Thank God!) and has been replaced by a "deep in my soul" hunger.
- Baby O is a mover and a shaker and has been given the nickname, "Irish River Dancer."
- Mark has yet to feel any movement, but he's being patient.
- My sweet tooth returned with a vengeance after being sick for 3 months, but I do well with fruit smoothies and lots of Cuties Mandarins... and the occasional donut.
