Cambodia & Vietnam | Essential Gear for Siem Reap

I think it's important to know what people used on their trip, not just what they took. I've talked about the big-ticket items that I took, but I want to fill you in on the smaller things, the things that you wished you'd known before you made it there, and the things that I'm sure someone will forget... but don't say I didn't warn you!

Cambodia & Vietnam | Angkor Part 3 (Banteay Srey & Banteay Samre)

Our tuk-tuk driver met us outside of our hotel, the Kiri Boutique Hotel, to take us around on our last day in Siem Reap. We decided to head towards Banteay Srey and the countryside. We got started early in the morning, around 7, and were excited to have a relaxing ride ahead of us.

Cambodia & Vietnam | Angkor Part 2, Vol. 2 (Preah Khan - Ta Prohm)

After leaving Angkor Wat, we asked our tuk-tuk driver to take us to a breakfast place that he'd enjoy. He ended up taking us to a Western-meets-Cambodian restaurant, which we learned was the norm in Siem Reap. I had a BLT that was good (it had French dressing instead of mayo) and french fries and Tab had noodles, I think. Overall, it was good but we really just wanted good ole local food. Patience... patience...

Cambodia & Vietnam | Angkor Part 2, Vol. 1 (Angkor Wat)

The second day in Siem Reap we decided to play smarter, not harder. So, we hired a tuk-tuk driver and headed back out to Angkor. It was o'dark thirty and we were hoping to catch one of those amazing sunrises over Angkor Wat that you hear about. It didn't work out like that, but it was still awesome to see Angkor Wat lighten up right before our eyes.
