Friendtrip: A Short Walk & Nanzoin Temple
Our last day in Fukuoka was nice! We took a walk through, what we thought was, a produce market. Once we got there we decided that it was more like a wholesale market. It was in a cute area and a beautiful day so it all worked out. Afterwards, we headed to Nanzoin Temple to see the world's largest bronze statue!

Friendtrip: Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome & BFF Photos
We took the overnight bus to Fukuoka and, although it hasn't treated me badly in the past, it did not go over well. I was getting sick and I was tired. Those two things led to a nap (at 7am), as suggested by Vickie, when we got to our AirBnB apartment and I was really grateful for that.
When we got up, we headed to our first stop: Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome. Kacey and I had a little surprise for Vickie, which we were both pretty excited about! You see, Vickie loves Paul McCartney and during my trip research I found out that the Dome has cast the hands of all the famous people that have played there. You see where this is going...

"Friendtrip" - Miyajima
Miyajima, or Itsukushima if you want to get technical, was one of the highlights of the trip for me. I had been looking forward to seeing the "floating" torii for ages and was super excited to get there! Some may say that I was obsessing over low and high tide... *cough*cough* Kacey. Maybe I was, but who can blame me when this view was at stake!

"Friendtrip" - Etajima & Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
After the failed attempt to Space-A to Iwakuni, we finally made it to Hiroshima. We had one last ferry to take before we made it to our accommodations on Etajima, but we were here! Thankfully, we didn't have trouble making it onto the boat or getting to our house, which that has everything to do with Rikki and his friend, Yohei, who answered all of my frantic phone calls and picked us up at the ferry port... with beer!

"Friendtrip" to Hiroshima and Fukuoka: Travel Times
At the end of March, while Mark was out of town and before Vickie PCSed, we took a girls trip to Hiroshima and Fukuoka. The plan was to Space-A to Iwakuni and take a short bullet train ride to Hiroshima. That was all turned upside down when the Patriot had a door malfunction, which knocked us off the flight and back to square one.

Friendtrip
The past week has been full trip prep, last minute plans, & house cleaning (in preparation for Mark's return - yay!!). That's why I've missed a few blogging days... Life took over for a second!
I'll be back soon, I promise, and I'll have so many fun stories to share with you. Thanks for being patient.
