Happy 2017!
Hey! Look... I'm blogging! Trust me, it's just as shocking to me as it is to you. Life has been a whirlwind of learning to keep a small child alive and keep tabs on a husband who was floating around on the other side of the world.
Good news is Caroline is doing well and the husband is home! Hooray! So lets recap...

Celebrating the Holidays in the States
Celebrating Dad's birthday a little early at our favorite Indiana restaurant, Bonge's.
Being in the states for the holidays was such a treat! It was something that Mark and I talked about a lot while we were in Japan. Yes, we traveled a lot and enjoyed the time overseas... However, there's something to say about being surrounded by the ones that you love during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Callaway Gardens Fantasy in Lights
Mark and I moved into a small, loft-style apartment in a great location here in Columbus. We love it! However, we outgrew it the moment our non-temporary storage arrived. What was a cute, well organized apartment quickly turned into a, "please shut that door so I don't have to look at the clutter," apartment.
With that said, we didn't decorate for Christmas this year. My heart hurt a little, especially after being in Japan for three years and yearning for a real Christmas tree, but the thought of adding decorations to our chaos did not seem appealing. Enter: Christmas light shows and Callaway Gardens!

Christmas Break
Even though we will not see Santa by the ocean this year, we are super excited to spend Christmas with family! It's been 3 years since we've been home for the holidays and we are gearing up for the excitement!
With that said, I'll be taking a break from the blog from now through the New Year with an occasional pop-up if something truly "blog worthy" takes place. I'll be back to fill you in on the rest of our European vacay, different holiday experiences that we've had, and anything else that takes place along the way!
Enjoy your family and friends, where ever you are, and I'll see you in 2016!
